About the Role Blendid is seeking a strong Mechanical Engineering Director to lead our very talented team of mechanical engineers and technicians. The candidate will leverage her/his/their experience and passion to solve intricate problems while creating innovative products that are reliable and commercially viable. The role is in-person at our Sunnyvale, CA headquarters and reports to the Head of Engineering. Key Responsibilities Mentor and lead a group of mechanical engineers to design, prototype, test and manufacture custom parts, assemblies and products. Integrate third party parts, assemblies or products into the Blendid family of products. Build highly reliable, serviceable, and maintainable products to satisfy customer requirements, mainly in the commercial food preparation space. Develop an engineering roadmap in service of the business roadmap. Responsible for all mechanical engineering artifacts such as architecture, designs, drawings, specifications, manufacturing documentation (including PDM, PLM) and approvals. Serve as the front face for all aspects of mechanical engineering with internal teams, suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, and investors. Interface across levels with other departments such as EE, SW, Product, Marketing, and Operations.
