About the RoleAs the Director of Electrical Engineering at Blendid, you will oversee and drive the electrical engineering efforts of our innovative food robotics systems. You will lead a team of electrical engineers and collaborate cross-functionally to design, develop, and optimize electrical components and systems. The role is in-person at our Sunnyvale, CA headquarters and reports to the Head of Engineering.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership- Lead and manage the electrical engineering team; mentor and guide for successful execution and team development- Establish and drive the electrical engineering strategy aligned with company objectivesElectrical System Design and Development- Oversee design, development, and testing of electrical systems; ensure safety, performance, and regulatory compliance- Collaborate with mechanical and software engineering to integrate electrical componentsProduct Innovation and Improvement- Explore and implement technologies to enhance performance, efficiency, and capabilities- Drive continuous improvement of products and processesCross-Functional Collaboration- Work closely with R&D, product management, and manufacturing for alignment and executionQuality and Compliance- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and safety standards and regulationsBudget and Resource Management- Collaborate with the executive team to establish and manage budgets and resourcesProject Planning and Execution- Develop project plans, set timelines, and monitor progress to meet milestonesAbout You- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering (Ph.D. a plus)- ~8+ years in electrical engineering, including team leadership/management- Strong expertise designing electrical systems for mechatronic devices/robotics; knowledge of control systems, circuit design, power electronics, embedded systems- Experience with simulation tools, prototyping, and testing; familiarity with safety/regulatory standards- Excellent communication; ability to lead, inspire, and drive results; strong analytical skills
