Responsibilities
Medical Imaging Systems & Integration
- Design and build DICOM integrations with hospital PACS systems and imaging equipment
- Implement HL7 interfaces for seamless data exchange with EHR systems and clinical workflows
- Develop medical imaging workflows that handle echocardiogram processing from acquisition to AI analysis
- Build PACS connectivity solutions that enable automatic image retrieval and result delivery
- Ensure DICOM compliance and maintain compatibility with diverse medical imaging vendors
Customer-Facing Implementation
- Lead technical implementations with healthcare partners during system integrations
- Work directly with hospital IT teams to understand their imaging infrastructure and requirements
- Troubleshoot complex integration issues across different PACS, EHR, and imaging modalities
- Support critical healthcare system integrations
- Document integration processes and create technical guides for healthcare partners
Platform Development & Scaling
- Build scalable medical imaging services that handle high-volume DICOM processing
- Develop automated deployment tools for rapid integration with new healthcare sites
- Create monitoring and diagnostic tools for medical imaging workflows and system health
- Implement security and compliance measures for handling sensitive medical imaging data
- Optimize imaging pipelines for performance and reliability in clinical environments
Healthcare Standards & Compliance
- Maintain expertise in medical imaging standards (DICOM, HL7 FHIR, IHE profiles)
- Implement healthcare data security and HIPAA compliance measures
- Stay current with healthcare technology trends and integration best practices
- Collaborate with clinical teams to validate workflows and ensure clinical usability
- Support regulatory compliance requirements for medical device integrations
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in software development
- Extensive DICOM experience including DICOM networking, storage, and query/retrieve operations
- Proven PACS integration experience with major vendors (Epic, Cerner, GE, Philips, etc.)
- HL7 implementation expertise including HL7 v2.x and FHIR standards
- Strong Python proficiency for backend development and medical data processing
- Docker & AWS expertise for deploying healthcare applications
- Fluent English for customer communication and technical documentation
Preferred Technical Experience:
- Web technologies (HTML/CSS/JS) and modern frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, Electron)
- RESTful API development and healthcare system integration experience
- NoSQL databases (MongoDB preferred) for medical imaging metadata
- FastAPI and PyMongo experience for building medical imaging services
- Redis for caching and session management in healthcare workflows
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, OpenTofu) for healthcare deployments
- Medical device integration experience and FDA/regulatory knowledge
