Its latest €100m fundraising round (Series C) was led by Hedosophia and Sapphire Venture, with continued support from existing investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, BlackRock, Earlybird, HV Capital, Motive Ventures, and Notion Capital.
We’re based in Berlin but are also open to hiring remotely in Germany or the United Kingdom (where you can also work from our new London office, with travel to Berlin!).
As Upvest continues on its exponential growth path, we are looking for an exceptional Commercial Finance Lead to join our Finance team. You will play a key role in building out a world-class Commercial Finance function, developing and owning the relationship with our Commercial (Growth) teams to drive strategic decision making relating to top-line. Reporting to our VP Finance, Josh Masser, you will have the opportunity to work directly with senior stakeholders across the business.
Your mission:
Upvest has entered its stage of hypergrowth, so we now have a lot more live data to analyze and drive strategic decisions making. This is the time to double down on partnering to enable our commercial activities to continue to grow and you will be responsible for building this function out.
Own the relationship with our Growth organization, fostering a data-driven approach to ensure we grow strongly and in a sustainable manner - achieving high, “software like” contribution margins as we scale.
Orchestrate topline planning, together with go-to-market stakeholders and FPAI (Financial Planning, Analysis & Impact), as well as playing a key role in Board and Investor Reporting.

Build a world class commercial finance function from the ground up: We’re only a couple of years into our journey, so lots of things in Finance and across the company can still be implemented and developed. There is a real opportunity to drive significant impact in the business through enabling exponential growth:
Develop frameworks to drive positive customer outcomes with sharp analysis on pricing, revenue, and unit economics
Support the team with partner/vendor negotiations
Incorporate smart short-cuts & automations for recurring activities (closing, reporting, deal support, etc.)
Be part of a top-notch, diverse Finance function that enables a continuous learning environment: We already built a strong team of 15 people, which means you can focus your energy on your core responsibilities and always have the support of true Finance experts at your fingertips. We are live with BigQuery/Looker, Netsuite ERP and Abacum (next-gen financial planning & reporting tool).

What you bring:
7+ years in commercial finance and business partnering roles —ideally in enterprise SaaS or high-growth fintech. Experience from Investment Banking, Private Equity or Management Consulting is also a plus!
Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, unit economics and KPI development.
Data savviness - you are hands-on with Looker and financial tools and are not afraid to use your data skills to get your “hands dirty”.
You are an excellent communicator and are able to distill complex financial data into concise narratives for non-finance audiences.
