Job Title: Finance Officer

Job Summary
- The Finance Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role plays a crucial part in supporting Trade Depot’s financial health and decision-making processes.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
- Record and classify financial transactions accurately.
- Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and provide analysis.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Assist in the preparation for audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide insights into financial performance and trends.
- Prepare and file various tax returns.
- Stay current with changes in tax regulations and ensure compliance.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
- Identify and address control weaknesses.
- Utilize financial software and systems to manage and analyze financial data.
- Make recommendations for system improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification is often preferred.
- Previous experience in accounting or finance roles and preparing financial statements.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Ability to adapt to changes in regulations, processes, and technologies.
