The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Data Science Associate II to join our Data Team at TheGuarantors. This is a highly cross-functional role designed for a generalist who enjoys solving diverse business problems with data. You will dig deep into data to uncover insights, build analytical frameworks, and develop predictive models that inform strategic decisions across the company. You’ll work closely with teams across Pricing, Marketing, Risk, Operations, and GTM, providing end-to-end data science support from exploration to modeling to deployment.

Location

This is a hybrid position based out of New York.

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions
  • Develop and build statistical and machine learning models to solve problems across multiple domains
  • Run ad-hoc analyses and experiments to evaluate hypotheses to address emerging business challenges and opportunities
  • Translate business problems into data-driven solutions by understanding business goals and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Communicate findings clearly through data storytelling, visualizations, and presentations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Prepare detailed reports for cross-functional and strategic meetings
  • Stay current on emerging tools, methodologies, and best practices in data science

What you bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in data science or related quantitative role
  • Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time series analysis)
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and model development
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity to explore open-ended questions
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Base Salary

The base salary range is between $145,000 - $170,000 annually.

Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location and current market data and may vary from the range above.
