Reporting to the Director of Finance, you’ll own critical aspects of our accounting operations, from monthly close and reconciliations to audit prep and cross-functional reporting, all while helping to strengthen the systems and controls that support our next phase of growth.

This role is ideal for a licensed CPA who brings both structure and flexibility, who thrives in fast-paced, high-accountability environments, and takes pride in accurate, well-documented work. You’ll work closely with teams across the business, translating financial data into actionable insight and ensuring we stay grounded in both GAAP compliance and operational excellence.

Location

This is a hybrid role based in our NYC office, with an expectation of 4 days per week onsite.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies across all accounting activities
  • Prepare/reconcile monthly premium remittances to insurance carrier partners
  • Maintain and improve accounting systems, processes, and internal controls
  • Coordinate with external auditors for the annual financial audit
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Operations, and Product to ensure accurate financial reporting and insights
  • Assist with regulatory filings, tax compliance, and other ad hoc projects as needed

What You Bring

  • CPA required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s a plus
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally including time at both a public accounting firm and in-house at a startup or high-growth company
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
  • Experience with accounting systems such as Quickbooks and NetSuite is strongly preferred
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment

Benefits

  • Opportunities to make an impact within a fast growing company
  • Medical, dental, & vision insurance, beginning day one
  • Health savings account with employer contribution
  • Flexible spending accounts (healthcare, dependent care, commuter)
  • 401(k)
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Flexible working hours
  • Paid parental leave
  • Company sponsored short and long term disability

Base Salary

The base salary range is between $145,000 - $160,000 annually.

Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location and current market data and may vary from the range above.
