As we scale, we are seeking a high-impact Executive Assistant ( Chief of Staff) to support our Chief Program Officer in driving performance, governance, and operational excellence across the NYX program.

Role Overview

This is not a traditional executive support role. As Executive Assistant to the Chief Program Officer, you will act as a strategic partner at the heart of the NYX program.

You will coordinate complex, cross-functional activities across engineering, AIT, supply chain, finance, and corporate functions ensuring alignment, tracking performance, and enabling effective executive decision-making.

This role offers high visibility and direct exposure to senior leadership within one of Europe’s most ambitious space programs.

Key Responsibilities

Program Governance & Performance

  • Support the Chief Program Officer in overseeing cost, schedule, risk, and performance across the NYX program.

  • Coordinate executive program reviews, dashboards, KPIs, and reporting cycles.

  • Track key milestones, critical path items, and mitigation plans.

  • Ensure follow-up and execution of decisions taken at Executive Committee level.

Strategic & Operational Initiatives

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve efficiency and delivery performance within the NYX program.

  • Support cost-control and competitiveness initiatives.

  • Structure and manage operational topics directly mandated by the Chief Program Officer.

  • Ensure alignment between NYX objectives and broader company strategy.

Executive & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as a key interface between the NYX program leadership, CEO, and Executive Committee.

  • Facilitate governance meetings with Engineering, AIT, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Strategy, and Communications.

  • Prepare executive-level materials including presentations, decision dossiers, briefing notes, and speaking points.

  • Ensure clear communication flow between program and corporate leadership.

Directorate & Planning Support

  • Coordinate senior leadership meetings and program planning cycles.

  • Support resource planning and organizational alignment within the program.

  • Maintain visibility across priority topics and escalate risks where necessary.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

  • Proven experience supporting C-level or senior executive leadership in a complex, technical environment.

  • Experience within aerospace, space, engineering, or other high-technology industries is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional initiatives involving engineering and operational stakeholders.

  • Exposure to program management environments involving cost, schedule, and risk control.

Skills

  • Strong analytical capability and understanding of program management principles.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly for executive audiences.

  • Ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear, decision-ready outputs.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

  • High level of discretion, structure, and professionalism.

Personal Attributes

  • Proactive, structured, and delivery-focused.

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.

  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability.

  • Resilient, adaptable, and solution-oriented.

At The Exploration Company, you will contribute directly to shaping the future of European space transportation. This role places you at the center of the NYX program, working alongside senior leadership to ensure operational excellence and successful program delivery.
