Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
We want you as a talented Mechanical AIT Engineer to help us in our mission by:
Being involved in any type of operations for The Exploration Company in our facilities, like all the mechanical operations on our lunar vehicles, assembly operations, tube bending (in collaboration with AIT propulsion) and welding.
Setting up the facilities and the MGSE (Mechanical Ground support equipment) that we will have to install.
Working closely together with the rest of the AIT team.
You will be part of the Lander Team within the Future Systems Department, and will report to the Principal Engineer of the project and the Future Systems Lead.
Key Responsibilities
In your capacity as Mechanical AIT Engineer, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:
Write the procedures detailing the tests to be performed to validate and qualify all the mechanical subsystem, with the support of the CAD and mechanical design team.
Be involved and responsible for the good execution of the mechanical operations and testing the systems, following procedures and documenting all the anomalies or deviations.
Be involved in the resolutions of anomalies happening during the integration and tests.
Give your feedback and report any problem to the AIT manager. We will all work on a continuous improvement pattern to make sure we will fit with the quality standard.
Define required mechanical tools and GSE.
Set up a good work environment, for example identifying any missing tool to do properly all the tests. You will also work on the organization and management of all these tools.
What we would love to see from you
In the role of Mechanical AIT Engineer ideally, you will have the following:
Mechanical or Aerospace degree (Bsc. minimum)
3+ years of experience in hands-on mechanical AIT for aerospace systems
Knowledge of ESA and NASA quality and safety standards
Broad knowledge of structures and mechanical subsystems for aerospace vehicles
Welding experience will be considered a plus
CAD design experience will be considered a plus
Passion for advancing the commercial space industry
Highly motivated to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up environment
Fluent in English. German, French, Italian or Arabic is an asset
