Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection System) Design Engineer to help us in our mission by supporting all aspects related to harnesses, electrical assemblies, and parts in 2D and 3D including schematics, wiring diagrams and drawings.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as a EWIS Design Engineer, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:

• Creating 3D designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings

• Supporting all EWIS design aspects related to harnesses, assemblies, and parts in both 2D and 3D formats, including schematics and wiring diagrams

• Performing and analyzing trade-off studies to enhance spacecraft performance

• Gathering and evaluating mission and performance requirements to ensure optimal design solutions

• Assisting other systems in defining equipment interfaces and harmonizing these interfaces across systems

• Helping the integration team in defining space allocation models

• Supporting the AIT team in integrating the harness into the spacecraft

• Creating harness installation drawings

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Electrical Wiring considerations into the design phase of spacecraft systems and subsystems.

What we would love to see from you

In the role of EWIS Design Engineer ideally, you will have the following:

• You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in space, electrical, mechanical engineering, or a similar field, or 4+ year of experience.

• You possess at least 2+ years of professional experience in 3D EWIS Design within the aerospace sector.

• You are knowledgeable in all facets of electrical wiring design, including mechanical, electrical, and thermal aspects.

• You have excellent understanding of harness installation rules such as segregation, bend radius, maintainability, accessibility, and manufacturing.

• You are familiar with PLM systems, ideally Siemens Teamcenter.

• You have proven experience with ECAD software, such as EPLAN, IGE-XAO, Capital Harness or other.

• You have experience with electrical harness design.

• You work in a structured manner, are a proactive self-starter, and can work independently and within a team.

• You possess good communication skills, enabling you to integrate design and teams effectively to extract technical information.
