Job Summary
As a Senior GHG Auditing Specialist, you will lead client-facing delivery of GHG audits for Scope 3 / value chain interventions (insetting projects), mostly focused in the AFOLU sector with a strong focus on agriculture. The role involves applying auditing best practice to deliver robust GHG audit opinions, managing client relationships maintaining/creating loyalty with our key accounts, and ensuring projects align with recognized methodologies, protocols and quality requirements. Strong sector-specific technical input is essential, particularly across Agricultural Land Management, regenerative agriculture, livestock, dairy, crops and soil carbon. You will also support the development of other Auditors through the delivery process and contribute to continuous improvement of audit delivery and Quality & Compliance processes when required. Any other tasks as requested by his/her manager as may be needed by the Company. Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a field of relevant studies (agriculture, agronomy, soil science, environmental science, forestry, ecology, environmental engineering or related disciplines).
- Minimum of 7+ years' relevant professional experience, preferably within a VVB/DOE, assurance organization or carbon standards auditing environment.
- Currently or previously qualified as an auditor, validator, verifier, technical expert, team leader, lead auditor or technical reviewer for carbon projects under recognized standards.
- Proven hands-on experience leading or delivering validation, verification or audit work for carbon projects, GHG projects or Scope 3 / value chain intervention projects.
- Proven experience with GHG accounting and reporting standards and frameworks such as ISO 14064 series, ISO 14065, ISO 14066, ISO 14067, ISO/IEC 17029, GHG Protocol, Verra/VCS, Gold Standard, CDM or Article 6.4.
- Strong AFOLU expertise, with a primary focus on agriculture, Agricultural Land Management, regenerative agriculture, livestock, dairy, crops, soil carbon, nitrogen dynamics and farm-level practices.
- Deep knowledge of commonly used AFOLU and Agricultural Land Management methodologies and tools, including Verra VM0042 and VM0047; knowledge of equivalent VCS, Gold Standard or insetting methodologies is desirable.
- Experience assessing quantification, monitoring and reporting of GHG emissions and removals, including sampling, uncertainty, baseline setting, additionality and data quality controls.
- Experience in effectively communicating technical matters in customer-facing roles.
- Experience project managing audit delivery as an audit lead.
- Knowledge of environmental markets and/or corporate sustainability.
- Strong written reporting skills, attention to detail, sound professional judgement and ability to work collectively with validation/verification team members.
- Fluent professional English.

Bonus points for:
- Experience developing Auditors through delivery work (e.g. from Trainee to qualified).
- Specific project experience in agriculture supply chains, insetting, value chain interventions, food sector programs or textile sector programs.
- Additional languages relevant for client and fieldwork contexts, particularly Spanish, French or Portuguese.
- Experience with ISO 14065, ISO/IEC 17029, ISO 14066, ISO 14067, ISO 14040/44, GHG Protocol Land Sector and Removals Guidance or related assurance standards.
- Use auditing best-practice (inquiries, measurement, risk analysis, data management, evidence review, sampling, site/remote verification inputs, etc.) and sectoral technical expertise to produce GHG audit opinions.
- Manage client relationships throughout the delivery process, including expectations, proactive communications, technical clarifications, escalation of risks and timely closure of findings.
- Lead internal and external team members through the delivery process, coordinating audit teams, technical experts and reviewers as required.
- Plan and deliver validation and verification audit services for insetting projects and related GHG reporting by checking projects against selected GHG methodologies/protocols.
- Apply and interpret AFOLU with strong focus in Agricultural Land Management methodologies, including but not limited to VERRA VM0042 and VM0047, and equivalent carbon market or value chain intervention frameworks.
- Prepare validation, verification and audit reports, including clear technical findings, non-conformities, risk assessments and evidence-based conclusions.
- Assess project eligibility, baselines, monitoring plans, quantification approaches, sampling, uncertainty, leakage, additionality, data quality controls and reporting.
- Successfully plan and deliver audits to ensure business performance (quality / time / resources) while complying with SustainCERT’s procedures and relevant ISO standards.
- Support the ongoing professional development of team members throughout the delivery process, including delivery-based coaching and feedback.
- Participation, as needed, in other business lines for similar type of GHG assessments such as Carbon Projects under relevant international standards (VCS, GS, Art.6.4, etc.), Product/Corporate Carbon Footprints, Emission Factor Validation and Verification, etc., focused in the AFOLU sector.
- Support Quality & Compliance and relevant business process owners in maintaining and improving audit-delivery QMS documentation, including audit procedures, templates, checklists, controlled records and audit-planning inputs relevant to insetting.
- Provide delivery-based technical input to accreditation, scheme expansion and sectoral scope extension activities, including practical implications of ISO 14065, ISO/IEC 17029, UNFCCC Article 6.4 and relevant carbon-standard requirements for audit execution.
- Support the review and follow-up of audit-related internal audit findings, corrective actions, complaints, appeals and change-management cases, helping translate recurring issues into practical process improvements when required.
- Contribute to internal lessons-learned and knowledge-capture activities by converting recurring audit risks, methodological interpretation issues and delivery learnings into practical inputs for QMS updates, guidance notes or knowledge-base materials.
