About the Value Change Initiative (VCI)The Value Change Initiative (VCI) is a multi-stakeholder learning platform dedicated to helping companies make credible progress toward Net Zero. We tackle one of the biggest challenges in climate action: measuring, accounting for, and reducing Scope 3 emissions.

Through our Working Groups, Programs, and Labs, we bring together corporates, service providers, standard-setters, NGOs and technical experts to build alignment and develop practical guidance for credible decarbonization across value chains.

About the Role
We are looking for a Program Manager to advance VCI’s mission. You will lead and facilitate the VCI workstreams related to Food and Agriculture, develop high-quality technical content, and engage with a diverse community of partners and members across different industries.

Your work will turn complex discussions into actionable insights that help companies understand “how to Scope 3” in Food and Agriculture, translating collective learning into real-world impact. You will work closely with the VCI team, SustainCERT experts, and our global network of members, ensuring that every session, discussion and publication advances toward credible value chain decarbonization. Required Qualifications
  • Strong moderation and facilitation skills for large, multi-stakeholder groups (especially online).
  • Understanding Scope 3 GHG accounting, corporate climate reporting, and/or carbon markets.
  • Experience in or deep understanding of the Food and Agriculture sector or its specific sub-sectors, particularly in the context of GHG accounting.
  • Rapid learner with the ability to adopt new knowledge quickly.
  • Proven ability to synthesize stakeholder input and research into high-quality outputs.
  • Excellent storytelling, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in creating professional presentations and communication materials.
  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline (e.g., Environmental Science, Ecology, Sustainable Development, Soil Science, Agronomy).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in consulting (technical, sustainability, or strategy-related).
  • Knowledge of carbon accounting stakeholders, particularly in agriculture sectors.
  • Understanding of land-based carbon removals (accounting)/ carbon farming.
  • Strong understanding of leading carbon accounting standards and frameworks such as the Land Sector and Removals Standard.
  • Experience with Life Cycle Analysis (LCA).
  • Familiarity with sustainability and climate strategies in commodities such as cocoa, dairy, coffee or wheat.
  • Experience with multi-stakeholder processes and collaborative dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead VCI workstreams from design to delivery: define agendas, prepare materials, coordinate speakers, facilitate sessions, present technical content, moderate discussions and follow up on next steps.
  • Lead on the development of technical content and research outputs, including conceptual models, frameworks, and guidance that clarify Scope 3 accounting and target-setting in the context of Food and Agriculture.
  • Translate complex stakeholder discussions and technical findings into accessible, actionable materials.
  • Act as the main point of contact for members and partners, supporting engagement and onboarding for your workstreams.
  • Monitor developments in the Scope 3 standard landscape and provide input to consultations.
  • Support VCI secretariat operations, including event coordination, program planning, and communications.
