ABOUT THE ROLE:
We’re seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our Payroll Operations and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing across multiple states. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is ready to take ownership of systems, processes, and team coordination. You’ll play a critical role in scaling payroll functions, partnering cross-functionally, and supporting a remote-first organization with a strong focus on operational excellence.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL…
- Lead end-to-end payroll processing for weekly and biweekly cycles
- Manage complex payroll processing across diverse pay structures, including salaried, hourly, piecework, and tipped employees (>600 multi-state employee groups)
- Lead the reconciliation and maintenance of payroll data
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Manage, train, and support payroll staff or cross-functional partners handling timekeeping and payroll-related tasks
- Develop and maintain payroll reports for internal stakeholders, financial reporting, and compliance audits
- Direct the resolution of complex Payroll related/adjacent issues or errors
- Oversee configuration, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of the payroll and HRIS systems to support scale and compliance
- Partner with HR, Finance, and others to implement policies, process improvements, and systems upgrades related to payroll operations
AS AN IDEAL CANDIDATE, YOU ARE…
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Human Resources, or equivalent work experience
- 4–6 years of progressive experience in payroll, with at least 2 years in a managerial or lead role
- Deep knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and payroll system best practices
- 2-4 years experience directly managing payroll with ADP Workforce Now
- Strong analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail and an ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets; comfort working in modern communication and collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, GSuite)
- Experienced in partnering with Technology teams to build and enhance internal payroll-related software functions
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and growing environments

Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000
