We are currently hiring a Medical Officer role to support our Reliance Family Clinic Team.
This role is part of our clinical team, dedicated to delivering high-quality primary care to our patients. The ideal candidate will be confident in providing appropriate counselling to patients of all ages and varying levels of health literacy and will have a strong interest in contributing to ongoing innovations that enhance primary care delivery.
Responsibilities
Provide Quality Patient Care
- See patients and listen carefully to their health concerns.
- Examine patients, order tests, and make clear treatment plans.
- Give safe, evidence-based care following clinic guidelines.
- Write notes and prescriptions neatly and on time.
Educate and Counsel Patients
- Explain health conditions and treatment plans in plain language.
- Teach patients how to take medicines and when to come for review.
- Encourage healthy habits such as good diet, exercise, and rest.
- Check that patients understand what to do at home.
Work with Other Medical Team members
- Work closely with nurses, pharmacists, and other team members for excellent patient care delivery.
- Share updates and referrals clearly with other healthcare providers and specialists.
- Help new staff learn clinical routines and patient-care steps.
Improve Health Programs and Services
- Join efforts to track clinic performance and patient outcomes.
- Support community health checks and wellness programs.
- Help collect data for reports and improvement plans from health checks and wellness programs.
Ensure Professional Conduct
- Keep patient information private and secure.
- Be on time, respectful, and ready to work well with others.
- Follow all clinic rules and medical ethics.
- Keep learning to stay up to date in medical practice.
Required:
- Minimum qualification of MBBS or MBChB or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- 0 - 1 year Post NYSC experience
- Valid license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Completed NYSC with evidence of NYSC discharge certificate or exemption.
- Stay within 10km radius of the specific RFC applied for.
Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with digital health tools or EMR systems (not explicitly listed but highly valuable).
- Previous experience in public speaking and health education.
- Ability to work 12hours shift within a clinic setting.
