Business Ops Manager - Paris - Full-time

About the job

Who are we?

Launched in 2021, Orus is one of Europe's fastest-growing insurtechs, on a mission to simplify professional insurance for small businesses.

Professional insurance today is complex, opaque, and inefficient. At Orus, we make it simple, fast, transparent, and human.

Backed by over €41M in funding, including a €25M Series B in June, Orus is supported by leading European entrepreneurs, insurance executives, and top-tier funds such as Partech, Notion Capital, and Singular. Already serving more than 50,000 customers, Orus is now entering a new phase of scale, with European expansion ahead and strong ambitions for the years to come.

The opportunity

The Business Operations team is the operational backbone of Orus. Sitting at the intersection of Sales, Partnerships, Brokers, Care, Growth, and Claims, the team turns business needs into scalable processes, reliable tooling, smart automation, and high-quality data.

You will report directly to the Head of Business Operations and join a team of 4 Business Ops Managers, each owning a specific perimeter across the company's commercial and service functions.

The exact perimeter will be defined based on business priorities and your own strengths and interests.

Your mission

Two things define whether you're succeeding in this role:

  • Be a business partner: someone who understands stakeholders day-to-day well enough to spot the next improvement before they ask for it, and who drives it through, rather than just executing what's requested or patching what breaks.

  • Design for scale: Orus is scaling fast. For every process, automation, or roadmap item you own, ask "does this still hold up when volume is 10x what it is today?" before you ship it.

1️⃣ Run & Delivery

  • Be the primary point of contact for stakeholder teams to raise and resolve improvement requests and bugs

  • Be accountable for the reliable day-to-day execution of team processes

2️⃣ Improvement

  • Develop a deep understanding of your stakeholders' workflows and pain points, and use it to proactively identify and drive improvements

  • Drive continuous improvement of processes: flow management, task automation, data quality and cleanup, operational performance monitoring

  • Become an internal expert on our tooling stack (HubSpot, N8N, Front, Aircall, etc.) to unlock better automation and monitoring

  • Actively track tool feature evolution and market developments to bring fresh ideas in

3️⃣ Project Management

  • Co-build the Ops roadmap with stakeholders, prioritizing by impact

  • Map and structure business processes in our Notion knowledge base

What success looks like after 6 months

  • You've shipped at least one meaningful improvement to process or tooling, with a measurable impact

  • Stakeholders in your perimeter see you as a reliable, proactive partner

  • You've mapped and documented the key processes in your scope, and identified where they'll break as volume grows

  • You're comfortable navigating Orus's tooling stack independently and know when to bring in Product/Engineering vs. solve it yourself

Ideal profile

  • 2–4 years in Operations, Business/Revenue Ops, consulting, or a similarly fast-paced role

  • Fast learner and curious: you ask "why", not just "how"

  • Structured and analytical: you turn ambiguity into clear frameworks and back decisions with data

  • Comfortable at both altitude and in the weeds: strategic thinking and hands-on execution

  • Hands-on with tools like HubSpot, Notion, Linear, N8N (or eager to learn them)

  • Strong communicator, able to adapt to any stakeholder

  • French native, fluent in English (international team members, documentation)

  • Scale-up experience is a plus, but mindset matters more

Why join now?

  • Real, immediate impact: you'll work on the processes and tools that directly affect how Orus's commercial and service teams operate day to day

  • Broad exposure: you'll work closely with Sales, Partnerships, Brokers, Care, Insurance, Product, and Engineering, a fast way to understand how a scale-up really works

  • Ownership from day one: you won't be handed a rigid playbook, you'll help define how your perimeter is run

Hiring process

  1. Recruiter screen (30 min, video call): culture fit, motivation, salary expectations, availability

  2. Hiring manager interview (45 min, video call): experience deep-dive, problem-solving approach, stakeholder management

  3. Case study (1h30 - at-home prep + presentation): technical and operational problem-solving

  4. Team fit (in person): working style, communication, onboarding approach

  5. Reference checks: past performance validation
