Novicap is an end-to-end working capital solutions provider focused on enabling CFOs/Finance teams of SMEs to pay their suppliers and collect from their customers. This includes short-term credit (factoring, supply chain finance and loans) and payment automation solutions.

With offices in Barcelona and Madrid, we are currently looking for a Senior Risk Analyst who wants to join our team. You will take ownership of credit underwriting & monitoring activities at Novicap with the view to reduce and mitigate the impact of credit and fraud risk. Given that providing financing to SMEs and mid-market corporates is core to our vision, managing credit and fraud risk is crucial to Novicap’s continued success.

As mentioned, you will take ownership of credit underwriting & monitoring activities at Novicap.

In order to achieve your mission, you will:

• Execute end-to-end risk analysis for new and existing clients (Corporate Rating/Risk Basket and Direct Risk assignment) using the Novicap Platform and external tools.

• Perform fraud checks and operational viability filters before deep financial analysis.

• Assess and value third-party credit assignments (recurrent cash flows or contracts) using Novicap’s Collateral methodology.

• Approve transactions within assigned attributions or prepare comprehensive "Risk Reports" to elevate complex cases to the Underwriting Manager or the Underwriting Committee.

• Manage daily alerts via the Early Warning System (e.g. CIRBE changes, tax debts, unpaid bureaus) and resolve account blocks in coordination with Operations.

• Ensure all assigned Debtors and Suppliers have valid, up-to-date Risk Reports, based on the relevant frequency (from quarterly to annually, depending on the case).

• Participate in weekly or monthly coordination with other teams (e.g. Collections, Operations, Commercial) and document lessons learned in internal documents.

• A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, or Finance.

• A minimum of 5 years experience working as a credit underwriting analyst in a top 5 bank, an alternative lender, or a Big 4 in Spain.

• Proficiency in financial statement analysis and accounting principles.

• An understanding of Working Capital products (Factoring, Confirming).

• The ability to work within the Novicap Platform and Dashboards.

• The ability to synthesize complex financial data (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) into a clear "Risk Basket" (1-19), according to the Underwriting Policy

• The capability of making autonomous decisions within the Attribution Matrix.

• The ability to explain rejections or conditions clearly to Commercial teams ("Reject and Explain" protocol).

• The proactiveness investigation of potential "orange/red flags" in the Early Warning System.

• The ability to work across teams, with a positive and problem-solving attitude, in particular when facing the Commercial team.
