We are now seeking a proactive and experienced Accounting Manager to join our accounting department on a 1-year temporary basis to cover parental leave.
This role is ideal for a dynamic professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys leading team, optimizing processes, and contributing to group-level financial reporting.
The preferred location of this position is in the Helsinki metropolitan area, but remote work within Finland is also possible. This position will report to the Senior Director of Accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of three accounting professionals
- Oversee and seek improvements in Revenue, Accounts Receivable, and Collections related processes and internal controls
- Provide guidance on complex accounting issues related to subsidiaries' local financial statements, direct and indirect tax filings and audits
- Contribute to monthly close activities, with particular responsibility for the preparation and critical review of monthly balance sheet specifications
- Participate in the preparation of Group's consolidated IFRS financial statements as well as the external audit. The candidate is expected to especially co-ordinate the revenue audit.
- Contribute to and manage various finance and system development initiatives.
- Drive process improvements and automation opportunities
What We're Looking For
- Excellent communication and team management skills.
- Fluency in both Finnish and English is a must. Finnish language is required as you will be expected to produce entire sections related to our financial statement in Finnish.
- 4-6 years of relevant work experience, either from an in-house role or e.g. Big4 public accounting
- Proficiency in IFRS and Finnish Accounting Standards (FAS), especially around revenue recognition. Familiarity with tax processes.
- Willingness to take ownership and assume a project manager role in various finance-related development projects
- Driven and result-oriented approach to work. Not afraid to take ownership over topics that are new.
- Eye for the appropriate level of detail and continuous improvement. Analytical mindset.
- You enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You have excellent organizational skills and are able keep multiple initiatives ongoing at the same time by prioritizing and delegating within our team.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Master's degree in accounting or similar.
- Prior knowledge with tools like Netsuite and Zuora is considered a plus.
- Industry experience from software/technology companies is considered a plus.
