About Lifen Research
More than 80% of clinical data is locked away in unstructured text, buried in millions of medical reports. Lifen Research was created to unlock the potential of this data, with the goal of accelerating research and innovation to improve patient outcomes.
That’s where Lifen DataLab comes in. This AI-powered solution automates the extraction and structuring of medical report data, working with a network of partner hospitals. By replacing manual data processing with a faster, more accurate, and more scalable approach, it enables the creation of high-quality, continuously updated databases, ideal for large-scale research, including multicenter studies.
Protecting patient data is at the core of Lifen’s mission. Aware of the ethical concerns around sensitive medical information, Lifen works closely with partner hospitals and patient advocacy groups, following the highest standards of security and confidentiality to ensure data is used ethically and responsibly.
👥 Role Overview
As VP Lifen Research, you will own the definition and execution of the go‑to‑market strategy and the business performance of the product line, ensuring end‑to‑end commercial coherence across Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Product/R&D. You will be the main representative for this part of our business, inside and outside the company. You will brief our executive team and, when needed, our investors on Lifen Research priorities and outcomes. You will represent Lifen at external events and strategic meetings to grow our offering internationally. You will also lead relationship‑building with key partners—especially pharmaceutical companies in the EU and the US—and play a key role in hiring the critical skills we need to scale.
🎯 What you will do
Strategy and Positioning
- Define what we build, what we sell, and how we operate it (“Offer Synthesis”), in close collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Product/R&D, driving collective decisions and trade‑offs toward a shared vision.
Business Leadership and Revenue
- Responsible for the business forecast: define KPIs and targets (revenue, pipeline, conversion, margin), steer forecasting, and co‑develop the business plan with C‑levels.
- Define and execute the strategy to achieve targets (segment sizing, resource allocation, new‑segment identification).
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline via prospecting, networking, and expansion within existing accounts.
Lead international expansion
- Responsible of country prioritization, market access strategies and key partnerships.
- Represent Lifen on international stages (conferences, public events) and lead relationship‑building with key stakeholders—especially pharma across the EU and US, plus CROs, KOLs, and the broader RWE ecosystem—to expand our offering.
Operational and Product Alignment
- Secure tight alignment across Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Product/R&D for offer readiness, delivery quality, and market feedback loops into the roadmap.
- Feed and challenge the roadmap to create durable competitive advantage (data/AI differentiation, compliance, scalability).
- Act as the “first customer” of the product roadmap to ensure market needs and operational constraints are reflected.
Governance and Reporting
- Serve as the primary interface to the executive team and, when needed, the Board/investors: reporting, business plans, OKRs (6‑month cycles), and resource allocation.
- Present the business plan, OKRs, executive reviews, and consolidated updates
Leadership and Talent
- Anticipate hiring needs and recruit key talent; set variable compensation objectives.
- Support strategic meetings to help close key deals.
- Collaborate closely with C‑levels and Heads ofs; influence, federate, and drive a collective approach across departments.
- Stay in tight alignment with functional heads on staffing decisions; provide input into performance reviews and senior staffing decisions.
