About the Role

The Placement Manager will play a critical role in supporting Igloo’s brokerage operations by negotiating the best products and premiums with insurance partners, coordinating closely with internal teams, and identifying business development opportunities directly with businesses. This position ensures that Igloo delivers innovative insurance solutions tailored to market needs while driving collaboration and strategic alignment between stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

Insurance Partner Management & Negotiation

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and regional insurance providers to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Negotiate product offerings, premium rates, and coverage terms to secure the most competitive solutions for Igloo’s markets.
  • Collaborate with insurance partners to explore opportunities for new and customized insurance products.

Insurance Product Development & Delivery

  • Work with internal teams (Operations, Product, Commercial, Finance, Legal and Compliance) to refine and align insurance product development processes.
  • Provide insights into market needs, trends, and competitor activity to shape product design and go-to-market strategies.
  • Ensure smooth execution and launch of insurance products in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify and pursue direct business opportunities for Igloo as an insurance broker, targeting industries such as e-commerce, telecommunications, travel, and healthcare.
  • Develop strategies to expand Igloo’s footprint by offering tailored insurance solutions to businesses.
  • Support the generation of leads and partnerships to meet quarterly and annual business development targets.

Stakeholder Coordination & Collaboration

  • Act as the key liaison between insurance partners and internal teams to align priorities and deliverables.
  • Work cross-functionally to streamline workflows, improve operational efficiencies, and maintain product delivery timelines.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on placement activities, partner negotiations, and product development progress.

Strategic Insights & Reporting

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor strategies, and regulatory changes to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Share market intelligence with internal stakeholders to refine business strategies and enhance Igloo’s value proposition.
  • University degree majoring in Insurance, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of the insurance market and comprehensive knowledge of insurance law.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting or insurance placement within the insurance industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting guidelines, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including advanced spreadsheets, databases, and underwriting software.
  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal proficiency.
