About the role
The Head of Placement – Insurance Partnerships will drive the growth and success of Igloo's insurance partnerships, focusing on establishing and strengthening relationships with local and regional insurance partners. This role will identify strategic opportunities, optimize insurance product offerings, and ensure operational alignment across multiple teams to deliver innovative insurance solutions tailored to market needs.
Job Responsibilities
1. Strategic Insurance Partnerships
- Prospect, develop, and manage relationships with insurance providers, ensuring alignment with Igloo’s business objectives and growth strategy.
- Negotiate and secure partnerships to scale customer acquisition, expand market reach, and enhance Igloo’s brand equity.
- Lead discussions and collaborations with key stakeholders to identify and unlock new revenue streams.
2. Insurance Product Growth and Market Strategy
- Work closely with partners to co-create insurance products that address market gaps, focusing on e-commerce, telco, travel, hospitality, and healthcare industries.
- Analyze market trends and ecosystem requirements to identify opportunities for smart insurance solutions, positioning Igloo as an industry leader.
- Provide localized market insights to guide commercial, product, and insurance strategies effectively.
3. Operational Excellence and Delivery Management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including Product, Tech, Actuarial, Commercial, Legal, and Regional Insurance teams — and work in direct partnership with the Operations Manager and Regional Head of Operations to co-define operational frameworks during the early stages of product design and insurer onboarding.
- Ensure that operational needs (claims, customer service, after-sales workflows) are integrated during product launch planning to enable smooth intake, service delivery, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Lead initiatives that bridge the gap between insurance product design and operational execution to drive efficiency, scalability, and service excellence.
4. Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
- Maintain excellent working relationships with insurance partners to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
- Act as a key liaison between internal teams and insurance providers, ensuring alignment in priorities and deliverables.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to streamline processes and achieve organizational goals.
5. Leadership and Team Management
- Mentor and lead team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Represent Igloo at industry events and engagements, positioning the company as a preferred partner in the insurance ecosystem.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field..
- At least 8 years of experience in partnerships, business development, or insurance placement roles.
- Proven track record of establishing and growing partnerships in the insurance or related industries.
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to navigate and manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Deep understanding of market trends, particularly in on-demand industries.
- Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
