About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal and Compliance Officer to join our dynamic Philippines team. This role will work closely with both the local operations and the regional Legal & Compliance Team, ensuring our business remains compliant with all regulatory requirements while maintaining strong corporate governance.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, proactive professional with solid experience in legal and regulatory compliance—particularly in the insurance or technology sectors. You will play a critical role in shaping and enforcing our compliance framework, supporting cross-functional teams, and driving a culture of compliance across the organization.

1. Corporate Governance & Legal Support

  • Support corporate housekeeping including filings, licenses, and maintaining legal records.
  • Review, draft, and maintain contracts and legal documents to ensure regulatory alignment.
  • Support the Board of Directors and Corporate Secretary in implementing governance policies.
  • Assist in drafting legal correspondence and managing external legal communications.

2. Regulatory Compliance

  • Monitor and interpret applicable laws and regulations (e.g., AML, insurance, data privacy).
  • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings and compliance reporting.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent the company in compliance-related matters.
  • Provide advice to internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements and updates.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the company’s compliance framework.

3. Compliance Training & Policies

  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees.
  • Draft and update internal policies and procedures to align with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a strong compliance culture within the organization.

4. Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and report legal and compliance risks.
  • Lead incident investigations involving breaches of conduct or policy.
  • Conduct due diligence on partners, vendors, and third parties (KYC process).
  • Collaborate with product and business teams to ensure compliant product launches and operations.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of compliance experience in insurance industry and technology-oriented companies.
  • Bachelor degree in law or business or other relevant qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Regional Asia-Pacific compliance experience.
  • Experience in a legal and compliance role in finance, insurance or any regulated industries.
  • Experience in anti-money laundering and combating financing terrorism, insurance, governance, risk and compliance areas.
  • Preferably, having internal audit and risk mitigation experience and qualified as a data protection officer.
