About the role
As we are headed towards our next phase of growth and scale, we are seeking an experienced Finance/Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Finance/Accounting Manager you will be working with the business development and operations team closely, supporting the country manager and regional finance team on all aspects of finances, and playing a crucial role in our fast-growing business in Thailand.
Job Responsibilities
This role will be overseeing the full spectrum of finance activities of Axinan Thailand (Insurtech) and a brokerage firm. The candidate should come with solid accounting and tax experience preferably from industries related to insurance/insurance agency/fintech/ecommerce. This is a crucial finance business partner role to the Country Manager and business development team in our fast-growing business in Thailand. The scope includes but is not limited to the following:
- Oversee core finance functions: financial and management reporting, cash flow management, taxation, controlling, treasury, risk controlling, statutory reporting and compliance
- Take over from the accounting firm for Axinan Thailand, and from the accounting team of the newly acquired brokerage firm
- Study the commercial contracts, work closely with the business development and operations team to understand the business model and transaction flows, from there to establish accounting treatments, and implement financial procedures and policies
- Be the pioneer of the Finance team, and hands on with everything finance at the early stage of the business growth; grow and coach the finance team at a later stage of business growth
- Oversee and review monthly reconciliation of sales data with external parties, ensure timely, accurate and complete billing
- Oversee the AR and AP and ensure complete and accurate billing; ensure timely collections and payments; ensure correct taxes apply on each transaction
- Ensure balance sheet schedules are maintained on a monthly basis during closing
- Monitor monthly closing activities to ensure timely and accurate management reporting
- Monitor business performance, provide the management team with business insights and analysis from management accounting, analyze financial information for trends and variances
- Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and payment
- Implement accounting system, internal control, and processes; deliver process improvement to ensure financial accuracy and compliance, e.g. through training, automation as necessary
- Owner of external audit process and ensure a timely and clean year end audit
- Partner closely with the management team and regional finance team to lead budgeting and forecasting, manage working capital and cash flow
- Act as a business partner to the Country Manager and business development team by providing advice and solutions on finance and strategy related matters
- Contribute to the business planning process and strategy development
- Develop strong working relationships with key vendors and business partners
