Senior Data Engineer
Digitail is on a mission to modernize the veterinary industry through innovative, customer-driven technology. Our cloud-based platform connects pet owners with veterinary clinics, helping providers streamline operations and improve patient outcomes.

The Data team plays a vital role in enabling this transformation by building scalable, reliable solutions that power everything from customer onboarding to product analytics. We're now looking for a Senior Data Engineer who thrives in startup environments and is excited by the challenge of helping customers onboard with clean, accurate, and well-structured data.

What you will do:

• Own and build end-to-end data pipelines using AWS Glue, Python, MySQL, and Athena to enable seamless onboarding for new veterinary clinics.
• Lead data migrations from legacy platforms, including mapping data, managing QA, and optimizing performance across datasets.
• Improve the resilience, reliability, and speed of our ETL workflows by contributing to automation, validation tools, and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with Product, Onboarding, and Engineering teams to prioritize and deliver impactful solutions that support the growth of Digitail.
• Mentor teammates, guide on best practices in data modeling and pipeline development, and contribute to team planning and roadmap initiatives.

Your Experience:

• Extensive experience building data pipelines and working with large-scale data sets, particularly in AWS (Glue, Athena, S3).
• Advanced SQL and Python skills, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Experience with MySQL and data migration from third-party systems (EMRs, legacy databases, etc.).
• Background in designing data architectures or contributing to ETL framework improvements.
• Familiar with modern data tools (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake) and passionate about learning new tech when appropriate.
• Comfortable working in Agile environments, shipping iteratively, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You’ll work closely with:

• Onboarding & Delivery Teams – to ensure smooth customer data migrations and onboarding timelines.
• Engineering & Product Teams – to define and improve data-related features, pipelines, and internal tooling.
• Leadership – to ensure our data infrastructure scales with our customer growth and product vision.
