Why can this position be exciting for you?

As an AP Junior Accountant, you'll contribute directly to the financial health and operational efficiency of AMBOSS. Your main focus will be on processing vendor invoices and travel expenses, verifying transactions, and supporting accurate and timely accounting practices.

Even if you don’t meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply if you believe your experience and motivation align with the role.

You will:

  • Full-Cycle Invoice Management: Manage the end-to-end AP process, including verification, tax coding (VAT), and posting, while ensuring strict adherence to internal controls and approval workflows.

  • Vendor & Payment Coordination: Act as the primary liaison for vendors, reconcile accounts, and collaborate with Treasury to ensure accurate, timely payment runs.

  • T&E Policy Compliance: Oversee employee travel and expense processing, ensuring all claims are accurately documented, tax-compliant, and aligned with company policy.

  • Month-End & Reporting: Support month-end closing activities and provide accurate AP data to the wider Finance team.

  • Process Innovation: Drive efficiency by identifying opportunities for automation and contributing to optimization projects within the AP and T&E functions.

  • Cross-Functional Support: Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve inquiries and assist with ad hoc accounting projects as needed

You bring:

  • A completed degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (or a comparable commercial qualification)

  • 1–2 years of professional experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role

  • Solid understanding of invoice processing and basic VAT principles (knowledge of German VAT regulations is a strong plus)

  • Experience working with an ERP system (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Workday, or similar)

  • Familiarity with DATEV is nice to have

  • Proficiency in MS Office or Google Workspace, particularly Excel/Sheets

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and analyze discrepancies in financial data

You enjoy:

  • Solving discrepancies with an analytical and solution-oriented mindset

  • Working closely with colleagues across departments and valuing strong collaboration

  • Taking ownership of your responsibilities and seeing the tangible impact of your work

  • Communicating clearly and transparently with stakeholders, vendors, and teammates
