In our engineering team, we build the infrastructure, interfaces, and applications to provide first-class service to our members, health professionals, and even ourselves!

• Being an engineer at Alan means joining a team of talented, committed and passionate engineers, with a lot of product interaction.

🌍 International Expansion & New Markets

At Alan, we're on a mission to bring our innovative healthcare model to new countries and scale across Europe and beyond. We're building the foundations for rapid international expansion, creating systems and platforms that can adapt to diverse healthcare markets while maintaining the exceptional experience our members love.

Examples of what you'd work on:

• Build global-first platforms designed for multi-country deployment from day one, creating reusable components and architecture that can be quickly adapted to new markets with different healthcare systems, regulations, and languages

• Launch new countries by designing and shipping core systems for insurance operations, claims processing, member experiences, and provider networks that work across diverse regulatory environments

• Scale payment and billing infrastructure to handle multiple currencies, tax systems, and payment methods while maintaining compliance with local financial regulations

• Design country-agnostic data models that accommodate vast differences in healthcare systems, from network-based models to reimbursement systems, while keeping data consistent and accessible globally

• Create configuration and localization systems that allow new countries to be onboarded in weeks, not months, flexible enough to handle local nuances while maintaining global product standards

• Ship member experiences that feel local while leveraging shared global components, building mobile and web interfaces that adapt seamlessly to different languages, cultures, and healthcare expectations

• Own critical technical decisions as a domain expert, defining how Alan's systems evolve to support 10+ countries while maintaining engineering velocity and system reliability

You'll be joining at a pivotal moment as we accelerate our expansion strategy, with ambitious plans to enter multiple new markets. The systems you build will directly enable Alan's growth from 4 countries to the leading pan-European health partner.

This is a rare opportunity to shape how a fast-growing healthtech company scales internationally. Your work will impact hundreds of thousands of members across multiple countries.

⭐ Is it you we’re looking for?

We are looking for engineers with 3+ years of experience to help us scale our Engineering community from different perspectives (product, tech, and internal organization-wise):

• You’ll be able to tackle high-impact & high-risk projects involving many engineers.

• You’ll design efficient systems and engineering practices to align with and facilitate interactions between multiple teams/products.

• You’ll have the opportunity to mentor other engineers & lead crews (more details in this article).

• You’ll be able to contribute to hiring your future coworkers and shape candidates’ hiring experience (improving our technical assessment process etc...)

You would be a good fit at Alan if most of this sounds like you:

• Well-versed in Object Oriented Programming such as Python, Java, C#, and enthusiastic about web technologies such as modern Javascript.

• Willing to work in Python/JavaScript (but you don’t need to have experience with those 2 languages!).

• Passionate about building products.

• Self-starting and entrepreneurial.

• Humble and still willing to grow (no matter your seniority!).

• Collaborative, enthusiastic about teamwork, learning, and teaching.

• Fluent in English (no need to speak French!).

For this opportunity, we are aiming to hire within the C-F level range.
