Job description

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to support business operations and mitigate risks associated with contractual agreements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including but not limited to NDAs, subscription service agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements.

  • Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements, industry regulations, and company policies.

  • Maintain and update the contract library, ensuring all documents are accurately recorded and easily accessible.

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on contract-related matters to internal stakeholders.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contractual agreements.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of contract management processes and best practices.

  • Monitor contract performance and compliance, addressing any issues that arise during the contract lifecycle.

  • Conduct contract training sessions for the teams to enhance their understanding of contractual obligations and terms.

  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting contractual agreements.

  • In addition to contract management, the candidate will be responsible for addressing a variety of legal matters, including corporate, compliance issues, regulatory requirements, intellectual property concerns, and dispute resolution.

What we look for

  • LLM (Master of Laws) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent legal qualification.

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in contract management, preferably within the SaaS industry.

  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.

  • Certification in contract management (e.g., Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM). Additional specialisation such as privacy certification (e.g. CIPP) is a plus.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and analytical abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
